Louisiana Association for the Blind opened its manufacturing doors in 1968 producing peel-and-stick nonskid for America’s Coast Guard and Navy ships. Since that time, we have expanded our manufacturing into a multi-dimensional powerhouse converting raw materials into copy paper, producing Abrasive Sanding Cloth, and providing custom laser designs and products. Our facility provides opportunities for custom kitting and warehousing to maximize operations for our customers. Operating under the AbilityOne Program, our workforce is 110 members strong, 75% of which are blind or visually impaired. Every SKILCRAFT purchase supports the AbilityOne program and our mission, improving the quality of life for people who are blind through training services, and employment. If the package does not say SKILCRAFT, it is not doing its part to support Americans who are blind in the workforce.
COPY PAPER...
Louisiana Association for the Blind (L.A.B.) is home to the largest converter of copy paper in the state of Louisiana. Our state-of-the-art copy paper manufacturing facility houses 4 production lines operating consistently with a 5th line opening on the horizon to support demand. Our warehouse is consistently stocked with 22,000 cases of a variety of copy paper including but not limited to a brand-new Synthetic line, Chlorine Free, Dual Purpose, Acid-Free, Bond, Watermark, Neon and Pastel Color options all made with recycled materials. Our manufacturing facility adheres to the highest safety and environmental standards in the industry.

Peel-and-stick Nonskid Slip-Resistant tapes and treads are designed to provide traction on slippery surfaces to prevent potential slips and falls that can occur anywhere safety may be a concern. This material is used on ships, aircrafts, military/construction equipment, and inside/outside facilities. We provide a 66% cost reduction and a 50% weight savings reduction compared to traditional non-skid material.

INDEX SHEETS...
At Claiborne Manufacturing, we produce, package, and ship letter size divider sheets that are 3-hole punched and tabbed for 3-ring binders. These are made using 30% post-consumer recycled content and come in 100 sheets per set. 100 % of the workforce at our Claiborne Manufacturing Division are blind or visually impaired.
