Fundraising Events
Louisiana Association for the Blind has been shining a light for people with visual impairments through training, services and employment since 1927. Founded by the Lions Club, L.A.B. has evolved from its original operation – training and employing the blind to make and sell brooms – to a multidimensional powerhouse for those with visual impairments.
Today, L.A.B. offers low vision exams, children’s programs, independent living skills instruction, assistive technology and assessments, job training, and employment placement through our Community Services division. Our goal is to help people who are blind or visually impaired become more independent every day. L.A.B. also operates two Base Supply Centers at Barksdale AFB and Fort Johnson, equipping our military with Logistic Solutions. At our manufacturing divisions, we convert raw materials into copy paper and design and cut 3M non-skid material for America’s Navy Ships.
Throughout the year we also host several fundraising events, all proceeds go to further our mission.
Our Mission: Improving the quality of life for people who are blind or visually impaired through training, services, and employment.
