SHOW ME! is a program for visually impaired babies aged birth - three years and their parents. The program is a collaboration effort between L.A.B and LSU-HSC children's Center. The objective is to teach parents how to help their babies develop essential motor, mobility, sensory, and social skills.

There are twelve week classes that will help the parents help the child build on these skills:

  • Move with Me
  • Introducing New Foods: "Let's Eat!"
  • Reaching/Rolling for Objects
  • Dancing Cheek to Cheek
  • Talk to Me
  • Reaching, Rolling, and Crawling
  • Learning to Play
  • Creeping, Crawling, and First Steps

The Classes include parent feedback sessions and individual assistance with each baby's specific needs.

To be eligible for the Show Me! Program, babies must be diagnosed as legally blind and be ages birth - 3 years old. Babies can be referred by their Ophthalmologist, physician, or local social service organization. Parents should bring a copy of the baby's most recent eye exam and visual acuity for verification.
