Senior Connection is a peer support
group for persons 55 and older, who are legally blind. Our
mission is to help seniors understand vision loss, as well
as assist in obtaining coping mechanisms for blindness and
mastering the problems of living with low vision.
We understand that vision loss affects
one's self esteem, social interaction and activities of
daily living. We are here to promote friendships, enhance
productivity and plant new seeds of fellowship, despite
this life altering challenge.
Senior Connection brings people together:
- to meet and share with others who
have the same concerns about vision loss and/or blindness
- to form friendships and partnerships
bridging the gap between loss of independence and the
continuity of a happy, healthy, productive lifestyle to
socialize and interact in numerous activities
- to discuss important issues with
various speakers
Meet with us each 2nd Tuesday of the
month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Low Vision Rehabilitation
Center at 1714 Claiborne Avenue. Enjoy great discussions,
speakers, activities, food and fun. Bring a friend, bring
a family member and bring an idea!
