In the process of putting together our
building plans for the new Low Vision Center, it occurred
to us that a building was but brick and mortar. Our Center
was built out of need and with a strong sense of caring
for our Low Vision and Blind community. The Center is now
operating with over 6,000 square foot and is serving in
three ways: first, it provides a state of the art facility
to perform Low Vision evaluations with current up to date
technology; second, it offers adaptive aids at affordable
prices, which can be matched to individual needs. This will
help our clients avoid spending money on items that do not
help them and assure their purchases will be a benefit for
them. Third, it provides training which will enable the
Low Vision and Blind community, both current and future
generations, to travel safely, obtain employment, and live
independently.
Since the building is made of bricks
that last for many years, we decided to enable you to get
involved and share in the opportunity to make a difference
that lasts. For a limited time we are offering the opportunity
for you to donate a commemorative brick in the pathway that
leads to the center's main entrance. Honor a loved one or
create a memorial to someone special in your life. If you

sizes for various levels of participation but they are only
available for a limited time. Due to the limited number

ways to help us meet the current and future needs by donating

with memorial gifts. Louisiana Association for the Blind
is a private non profit agency and your gifts are tax deductible
and only used to support our mission to improve the quality
of life for the blind through training, services, and employment.
